Turning Point Is His Passion
Brian Recker has always been a hard working individual, but it wasn’t until about six years ago that God sent Brian his message. I’ve always had the desire to help others, but I lacked the motivation. With a little nudge and four years of schools, I broke that barrier to end up in the most familiar of places, working to help those in need.
Eight years ago I was a resident of Turning Point. I had reached the “bottom” so to speak, and I was consistently making bad choices. A quick stop was exactly the eye opener I needed to get back on track to being the father I should be to my wonderful 11 year old son. Add in that my significant other Crystal Havins was hard at work pursuing her Master’s Degree to become a therapist, as well as her two wonderful children, and I had what I needed to obtain the drive to get my Associate’s in Business and my Bachelor’s in Psychology.
I’ve lived in Angola since moving here in 1988 with my mother and father. My place is in the community helping those who are less fortunate, and I couldn’t be happier working along side those who have already built a strong foundation at Turning Point Shelter.
